Jam, Jelly, & Preserves
The question we get asked a lot at our South Georgia U-Pick farm is, "What's the difference between jam, jelly, & preserves?" Jelly (mayhaw is our favorite) is made from the juice of fruit, Jam is made from crushed fruit and is not strained like jelly is so you are left with a spread that has pulp or seeds and is less stiff than jelly. Preserves (strawberry preserves are our favorite!) are made from whole fruit and the result is a chunkier version of jam.
